- Updated
WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT: On Oct. 5, officers arrived at the 100 block of East Fort Lowell Road, near North Stone Avenue, after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.
Officers were able to locate Donte Lorenzo Laster, 23, in a fenced business yard. Police attempted to make contact with Laster and gave several commands to drop the weapon, a news release from the Tucson Police Department said.
Laster ignored the orders, started to fire the gun once again and was shot in the rear of the business by Officer Michael Cooper, the news release said. Laster later died at Banner University Medical Center.
Police said the gun Laster used had been reported stolen. No officers were injured in the incident. Video courtesy of Tucson Police Department.
