A 47-year-old man was shot and killed in a road rage incident Friday on Tucson's far northeast side, authorities say.

The shooting occurred just before noon on East Snyder Road just east of North Houghton Road, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said Friday in a news release.

Deputies arrived to find Jeffrey Honer, 47, shot dead in the road, the release said.

Honer was shot during a road rage incident with Jason Jameson, 41, the release said. Bystanders tried to save Honer but he died at the scene.

No further details were immediately released Friday night.

Jameson was arrested on suspicion of second degree murder and booked into the Pima County jail, the release said.

The investigation continues.
