A man police say was trying to rob people inside a house on Tucson's south side Thursday afternoon was shot and killed by one of its occupants, Tucson police say.
Freddy Wayne Batt Jr., 31, went to a house in the 100 block of East Elvado Road about 1 p.m. and demanded money and drugs from its occupants, Tucson police said Friday in a news release.
One of the occupants then shot Batt, who died later inside the home near South Sixth Avenue and East Los Reales Road.
After the shooting, a couple and their two infants fled from the house and sought help, the release said.
No charges had been filed Friday in connection with the shooting, but police say there were arrests on unrelated charges.
The investigation continues.
