Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy on Tucson's southeast side.

Early Dec. 2, Nyzaiah Martinez was shot and killed during a confrontation at a gathering at a house in the 3400 block of South Mann Avenue, near East Stella and South Kolb roads, Tucson police said in a news release.

Aidian Badia, 18, was later identified as the suspected gunman and was apprehended Thursday, the release said.

Badia was arrested on suspicion of first degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and being prohibited possessor, the release said.

During his initial court appearance an attorney said Badia is a full time student with no prior felony history.

Badia is being held in the Pima County jail on a $1 million bond.
