Marana police arrested a 29-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend and her dog.

The Marana Police Department said it received information that the suspect, Taton Dorfman, had told a third party he had killed his girlfriend.

Officers went to a home in the 5400 block of West Mosquito Drive, near North Harman Lane and West Overton Road, at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday and found Dorfman barricaded inside.

The Pima County Regional S.W.A.T. team was called in and the standoff continued for hours.

Finally, about 3:30 a.m. Monday, Dorfman was taken into custody.

His girlfriend, 30-year-old Hannah Rogers, was found dead inside the home along with the dog, Marana police said.ย ย 

Dorfman was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and cruelty to animals.ย
