A Marana man accused of killing his girlfriend and her dog used social media to talk about the crime, including showing an ex girlfriend a video of the bloodied woman in bed next to him, a court document shows.

Taton Dorfman, 29, also used social media to tell others he planned to die by suicide, a complaint filed in Pima County Justice Court shows.

β€œI killed her! I did it!” Dorfman told his ex-girlfriend in a Facetime call Sunday night, according to the court filing.

Dorfman, who was arrested by the Marana Police Department on suspicion of first degree murder and animal cruelty, several hours after investigators say he also killed his girlfriend’s dog inside a house in the 5400 block of West Mosquito Drive, near North Harman Lane and West Overton Road.

Dorfman called his ex-girlfriend and told her he’d shot his current girlfriend. Then he showed himself β€œlying (in bed) next to (her) with blood around her head and apparently deceased,” the court document says

Dorfman also said the dog was dead next to them.

Dorfman’s ex-girlfriend took screenshots and sent them to police.

Police said they found multiple multiple firearms inside the house.

Once the Pima County Regional S.W.A.T. team responded, Dorfman told negotiators that he killed his girlfriend and that he was going to kill himself.

Dorfman was apprehended after he was convinced to come out of the house.

β€œA large amount of alcohol and drug paraphernalia,” were found by officers inside the residence along with the body of a β€œfemale with a single gunshot wound to the head,” the court filing said.

The dog also was found with a single gunshot wound.

A handgun was found on the floor near the foot of the bed and Dorfman had blood on his hands and face. He had no injuries on his body.
