A 33-year-old Sahuarita man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder after police were initially called to a house for a reported heart attack, authorities say.

About 8:30 p.m. Friday, officers went to a house in the 900 Block of East Madera Estates after an emergency call reporting a heart attack, the Sahuarita Police Department said in a news release.

Paul Baillargeon, 58, died at the scene despite life-saving efforts by Santa Rita Fire Department paramedics, the release said.

"Officers began an investigation and learned there were suspicious circumstances and that a subject had fled the scene prior to officers arriving at the residence," the release said.

The person who fled the house, identified by police as Davis Crowell, was apprehended later. Crowell was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder. Bond was set at $250,000, the release said.

The case remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 of the department's tip line at 520-445-7847.
