A Georgia man convicted of cyberstalking a coworker was sentenced this week in Tucson to more than two years in prison, authorities say.
Jose Castillo Hernandez, 40, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, pleaded guilty in March to cyberstalking.
Hernandez was sentenced Tuesday to 27 months in prison and three years of supervised release by U.S. District Judge Raner C. Collins, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Arizona said in a news release.
Hernandez, a retired soldier, harassed a coworker and the coworker's family from late 2017 until 2021. He sent “anonymous hateful messages and threats,” which later also included detailed death threats, the release said.
Hernandez also tracked the co-worker's car, the release said.
