A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after Tucson police say he shot and injured himself and fatally wounded a companion while handling a gun.

About 12:30 a.m. Wednesday two people arrived at Banner University Medical Center South Campus with gunshot wounds.

Carlos Alcaraz, 19, was transferred to Banner University Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators determined the shooting happened at a mobile home park in the 5200 block of South Park Avenue, near East Bantam Road. They say Guillermo Alejandro Molina was handling a gun when it fired, striking Molina and Alcaraz, who was sitting next to him.

Molina was arrested on one count of manslaughter and booked into the Pima County jail.
