STK crime scene

Two siblings are dead in an apparent murder-suicide Sunday morning on the city's south side, Tucson police say.

Officers went to a house in the 400 block of West Virginia Street, near South Sixth Avenue, about 9:45 a.m. following reports of domestic violence and gunfire, Tucson police said Monday in a news release.

Inside police found the bodies of James William Modesitt, 60, and his sister Ramona Catherine Fernandez, 59, the release said.

Modesitt shot and killed his sister before turning the gun on himself, the release said.

The investigation continues.
