STK emergency

A 73-year-old woman was killed in a crash in southwest Tucson early Monday morning after she ran a red light and struck two vehicles, authorities say.

Debby Bazan was headed west on West Valencia Road about 5 a.m. when she ran a red light at South Mark Road, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.

Bazan swerved to avoid a car that was in the intersection to make a turn, but struck two vehicles that were headed east on Valencia, the release said.

Bazan died later at the hospital.

Immediately after the crash, one of the drivers of the struck cars ran away from the scene, the release said. Da’Quan Cain, 25, was later booked into jail on suspicion of a felony charge of hit-and-run involving fatality, the release said.
