A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at the westbound Avra Valley off-ramp Monday sent seven people to hospitals.

All the injured suffered non-life threatening injuries, said Capt. Brian Keeley, a Northwest Fire District spokesman. He said one person suffered serious injuries.

The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m.

The right lane of I-10 was closed while fire and law enforcement personnel worked at the scene, causing backups on westbound I-10 for about a mile, Keeley said.

Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers were investigating the crash.

No further information was immediately available.
