Tucson Police Department is investigating the scene of a overnight double homicide at Mission Manor Park, 6100 S. 12th Ave., on June 8, 2017. According to the police, the incident was reported at 10:15 pm. Officers arrived to find people rendering first aid to two men in the parking lot near the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson, Roy Drachman Clubhouse. The men died a short time later, police said.

Two men who got into an argument with a third man were shot and killed Wednesday night at a park on Tucson’s south side, police say.

The police department on Thursday released the names of the two men who were slain: Roman Nieto, 20, and Guillermo Ortiz-Morales, 26.

Several people reported the shooting about 10:15 p.m. Officers arrived at Mission Manor Park, 6100 S. 12th Ave., to find people performing first aid on two wounded men in a parking lot on the west side of the park, Tucson police said in a news release.

Officers called Tucson Fire, but the men died at the park, located between West Drexel and West Bilby roads.

Detectives learned that Nieto and Ortiz-Morales got into a verbal argument with an unknown man. At some point that man pulled out a handgun and shot Nieto and Ortiz-Morales.

The gunman left the park in a dark colored car, possibly a Dodge or a Chrysler. The gunman was described as having a stocky build.

Several people were in the park at the time of the shooting and investigators are asking anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME, the anonymous tipster line.
