Tucson Police Department crime scene technicians bring out evidence bags at the scene of a suspicious death in the 3500 block of East 3rd Street on Oct. 20, 2016, in Tucson, Ariz. Police were originally called to the area to investigate a suspected prowler, and discovered a deceased female at the residence during their investigation, according to TPD Sgt. Kimberly Bay.

Police officers investigating a report of a prowler this week in Tucson’s Miramonte neighborhood found the body of a woman they say was killed β€” and kept hidden in the home β€” by her longtime partner.

Shortly before noon Wednesday, officers responded to the prowler report at a home in the 3500 block of East Third Street. They were unable to locate any suspicious people in the area between East Speedway and East Fifth Street, police say.

Officers, however, spoke to neighbors who told them the woman living inside the residence was possibly ill.

When the officers went inside to check on the woman, they found 62-year-old Patricia Caldwell’s body on a bedroom floor.

Terence Borg, 54, described by police as Caldwell’s significant other for many years, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence manslaughter, domestic violence kidnapping and concealment of a dead body, according to a post on the Tucson Police Department Facebook page.

Borg is the person who called about a prowler, police say.

It's unknown how long Caldwell has been dead, and an autopsy will help determine the time, manner and cause of death.

The investigation continues.
