A man is facing second-degree murder in the shooting death of a man during a gathering Monday, police said.
Glenn Kyser, 29, was booked into the Pima County jail in connection to the fatal shooting of Thomas Barnes, 28, shortly after 6 p.m. in the 2000 block of East 36th Street, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
The neighborhood is east of South Campbell Avenue.
When officers arrived at a residence, they found a man on the ground with obvious signs of gunshot trauma and gave aid to the man, who later was identified as Barnes, said Dugan.
Police located and detained Kyser.
Tucson Fire Department paramedics treated and took Barnes to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson were he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Detectives determined that there was a small gathering and a fight broke out between multiple people, including Barnes and Kyser, Dugan said.
At one point Barnes pulled out a stun gun and shocked Kyser, Dugan said. Then Kyser pulled out a handgun and shot Barnes, he said.
Detectives spoke with multiple witnesses at the scene, but are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME, said Dugan.
