A Tucson man who was injured in a crash last month at Pima Community College died Jan. 7 from his injuries, police said Tuesday.

James W. White, 77, was injured Dec. 28 at about 11:30 a.m. when his car crashed into a wall on the college's property at 2202 W. Anklam Road, according to a Tucson Police Department Facebook post.

Paramedics of the Tucson Fire Department treated White and took him to Banner-University Medical Center Tucson with life-threatening injuries.

Traffic detectives learned that White was driving a white 2008 Toyota Solara west on Anklam, and when he was approaching the college campus the car drifted north.

The car traveled on the shoulder of the road before striking a small block wall, police said. White was not wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
