Peter Dilyou

Tucson police are asking the public for help in finding a man wanted in connection with a robbery and aggravated assault of a Circle K clerk.

An arrest warrant was issued for Peter Dilyou, 35, who is a suspect in the July 22 robbery at the convenience store at 1675 N. Wilmot Road, police said in a Facebook post Monday night.

Investigative tips and evidence led detectives to Dilyou, police said. Anyone with information on Dilyou's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

On July 22 shortly after 2 a.m., a man entered the Circle K and the clerk recognized him from previous shoplifting incidents at the store, police said.

The clerk approached the man and the man physically assaulted the clerk who attempted to get away. The assailant threw an item, striking the clerk in the face and causing serious but not life-threatening injuries, said police.

The man ran away from the store and police searched the area but did not find him.
