Tucson police were investigating a shooting Tuesday afternoon at a popular park on the city's south side.

A man was shot and suffered non-life threatening injuries at Mission Manor Park on South 12th Avenue, north of West Valencia Road, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.

The shooting was reported at about 3 p.m.

Bay said the man who was shot was involved in an altercation with several other men at the park. The men involved in the shooting ran from the park.

No further information was released.

Sunnyside Unified School District has Mission Manor Elementary School on the southeast end of the park and district facilities on the southwest end of the park.

The Boys & Girls Clubs has the Roy Drachman Clubhouse located on park's west side.
