A mobile home fire on Tucson's south side displaced a male resident early Sunday morning. Β

The incident took place on the 5600 block of South Country Club Road around midnight. A passerby called to report smoke and flames coming from a mobile home in the area.

Crews arrived to find the source of the fire coming from a bedroom. They quickly extinguished the flames and removed a heavily burned mattress and night stand from the home, saidΒ  Capt. Barrett Baker, a Tucson Fire Department spokesman.

Nine units and 23 fire fighters responded, the fire was considered underΒ  control six minutes after the first crew arrived.

No injuries were reported.

The resident was not at home during the time of the fire, but did return as crews were there. He is going to stay with relatives, so the Red Cross was not called to assist, Baker said.

The cause and origin of the fire has not been determined.
