Jerrad Dalmolin

FLORENCE, Ariz. β€” A Tucson man has been accused of providing his nephew with drugs that led to the teenager's fatal overdose last year.

Pinal County Sheriff's officials say 39-year-old Jerrad Dalmolin was indicted by a grand jury last month on suspicion of child abuse and transferring drugs to a minor.

A warrant was issued for Dalmolin's arrest and he was taken into custody last Friday in Sierra Vista.

It's unclear if Dalmolin has a lawyer yet.

Sheriff's officials say the 15-year-old boy died in July 2015 after a reaction to drugs Dalmolin allegedly provided to suppress his nephew's opioid addiction.

The teen's family says he took an unknown pill a few days before he died and had an adverse reaction.

Autopsy results indicate the boy's death was a result of buprenorphine intoxication.
