Sheriff's deputies are asking the public for help in identifying a man in connection to a robbery at a Walmart on the northwest side.

On Oct. 15 shortly before 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to Walmart, 7635 N. La Cholla Boulevard, to a report of a strong arm robbery, said Deputy Cody Gress, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

Deputies learned that a man, possibly in his late teens or early 20s, had assaulted to loss prevention workers while he was stealing items from the store, Gress said.

During the investigation, which included viewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, detectives learned that a man entered the store and selected a Bluetooth speaker and a water filter.

The man placed both items in a bag and tried to exit the store without paying, Gress said. Two loss prevention employees approached the man and he pushed past both of them, causing minor injuries to one of the workers, Gress said.

Witnesses told investigators that the man ran to a blue-green Honda Civic and drove away from the store.

The man is described as white and is about 6 feet tall, has a thin build, and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing glasses, a maroon shirt, gray shorts and black athletic shoes.

Robbery and assault detectives ask that anyone with information call 911 or 88-CRIME, an anonymous tipster hotline.Β
