An early morning fire early Tuesday damaged a preschool and daycare in downtown Tucson.

A day care and preschool in downtown Tucson was damaged early Tuesday in a fire caused by an electrical wiring malfunction in the attic, officials say.

Downtown Community School, in the 600 block of South Meyer near the Tucson Convention Center, was empty at the time of the fire. No one was injured, according to a news release.

Several people reported seeing the flames while driving on Interstate 10, Tucson fire said.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
