Composite drawing of man Pima County sheriff's investigators say attacked 3 girls in a northeast Tucson home.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department released a composite drawing Monday evening of a man they said broke into a home early in the morning and sexually assaulted three young girls.

Deputies are searching Tucson’s northeast side near the home for the attacker.

Deputies received a 911 call about 2 a.m. reporting a possible sexual assault of the three sisters at a house near North Melpomene and East Catalina Highway, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman in a news release.

The girls and their mother arrived from out of state several days ago to visit the girls’ grandparents.

The three girls, ages 6, 8 and 10, told deputies they did not know the man who came into the bedroom, the release said.

The 10-year-old told her mom there was a man in the house and the woman told the grandparents who called 911, said sheriff’s Bureau Chief Rick Kastigar.

Deputies are searching the neighborhood and surrounding desert areas including washes for evidence related to the incident, Kastigar said. Detectives are also questioning sex offenders in the area. “In recent history there have been no reported activities of great concern,”  Kastigar said.

The intruder is described as being in his 20s.The victims have described the suspect as a male in his 20’s with dark hair. He was last seen wearing dark shorts, a green sleeveless shirt and dark colored glasses.
