Pima County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the suspect in an Oct. 18 bank robbery of a US Bank branch inside of a Foothills Safeway store.

Sheriff's deputies are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a Foothills bank robbery that occurred last month.

On Oct. 18 at about 4:30 p.m., a man entered the Safeway located in the area of East Sunrise Drive and North Swan Road, and wandered through the store for about an hour before approaching the US Bank branch inside the store. He demanded the teller place money into a plastic bag, then left the store with an undisclosed amount of money, said Deputy Cody Gress, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.

Through their investigation, Sheriff's detectives and the FBI learned that the suspect had a speech impediment when he spoke to the teller, and walked as if he had some physical disabilities. Authorities believe this to be an act, because video surveillance didn't show the same physical limitations before he approached the bank, Gress said.

The suspect is believed to be in his early 20s. He's between 5'8" and 5'10" tall with a heavy-set build, and was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, khaki shorts, a black Arizona Diamondbacks baseball hat and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity or the incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
