A woman driving a pickup across a railroad crossing failed to yield at a stop sign and the truck was struck by a train on April 15, 2016. Β

A woman was in critical condition at Banner-University Medical Center Tucson Friday night after her truck was struck by a train.

Deputies responded to a report of the crash at about 9:30 a.m. in the 11000 block of South Nogales Highway, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.

The woman was traveling on private property and failed to yield at a stop sign at the railroad crossing, causing the collision, said Rodriguez.

The impact caused the truck to roll, Rodriguez said.

Paramedics with Rural/Metro Fire Department treated the woman and transported her to the hospital.
