A 27-year-old man, who crashed into a vehicle and killed a woman a week ago, died Friday in the hospital, police said.

Matthew J. Christ died from injuries he received in the April 9 crash at South Harrison Road and East Pikes Peak Drive, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Christ was driving a Nissan Altima south on Harrison Road at a high rate of speed, and as the Altima crossed Pikes Peak Drive it crashed with the driver's side of a Ford Mustang that was headed east on Pikes Peak across Harrison Road, Dugan said.

The driver of the Mustang, Teresita L. Glazier, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Dugan.

Since January, there have been 11 fatalities in the city, compared to 16 at this time last year, police statistics show. Β
