Community Food Bank

The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

Dunkin’ Donuts in the Tucson area will donate $12,500 to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona on Thursday.

The donation is being made through the Joy in Childhood Foundation, Dunkin’ Donuts national charitable foundation.

During the check presentation, franchisee members and their teams will be on hand to help pack meals for the food bank. The volunteers from around Tucson recently helped pack about 25,000 pounds of food that helped more than 3,000 needy families. A group of volunteers from Dunkin’ Donuts will be packing additional food at Thursday’s check presentation.

In the 2016-2017 school year, the Joy and Childhood Foundation helped provide more than 2.4 million pounds of food β€” the equivalent of more than 1.4 million meals β€” to children and families struggling with hunger in communities nationwide through grants made to the Feeding America network of member food banks. Feeding America and the Joy in Childhood Foundation have partnered together for over a decade to help fight hunger.
