The U.S. District Court for the 9th Circuit will recognize teachers who encourage their students to enter a civics contest.

The contest is for students in grades nine through 12. Students can write essays or make videos on the theme, "Not to be forgotten: Legal lessons of the Japanese internment."

Four Arizona teachers who support their students in the contest will receive $350 each for their excellence in civics education.

To nominate a teacher or for more information about the contest and the teacher recognition, visit http://www.ce9.uscourts.gov/civicscontest. The deadline for nominations is April 16.
