A Catalina Foothills High School student was chosen as one of two Arizona delegates to the 55th annual U.S. Senate Youth Program.

Meena Venkataramanan, a senior, is one of more than 80 Arizona students who applied to be a delegate for the week-long program in Washington D.C. that brings outstanding high school students to study the federal government. She will travel there in March next year.

Venkataramanan is president of the Catalina Foothills High speech and debate team and serves as a teen attorney at the Pima County Teen Court. She is also a member of the Metropolitan Education Commission's Tucson Teen Congress.
