The automotive technology education program at Flowing Wells High School has earned Automotive Service Excellence program re-accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation in maintenance and light repair.
The ASE Education Foundation is a nonprofit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry. All accredited programs throughout the country undergo this examination every five years to maintain their accreditation.
Flowing Wells has successfully met these standards every five years since 2002 and is the only comprehensive high school in Southern Arizona that continues to earn this distinction, the district said in a news release.
βWe are delighted to continue being part of the ranks of the ASE accredited training programs. Students will be assured of a quality education, and shop owners will be assured of getting quality job applicants,β Flowing Wells auto shop instructor Jesse Brenton said in the release.
To achieve this recognition, Flowing Wellsβ program was evaluated by the ASE Education Foundation, made up of a team of local automotive professionals and an ASE representative.
Desert View seniors get UA acceptance
More than 110 Desert View High School seniors celebrated formal acceptance to the University of Arizona at a βJaguars Gone Wildβ assembly on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Sunnyside Unified School District and University of Arizona representatives celebrated the seniors admitted to UA in front of their peers and families at the assembly-style event.
Seniors and their families were invited to Next Steps Student & Family Support Workshops after the ceremony. The workshops feature university representatives from various departments who answer questions about housing, meals, transportation, tuition and more.
