Candidates are being sought to fill the vacant District 2 seat on the board that governs Pima Community College.

Nov. 24 is the deadline to apply for the seat left vacant by the resignation of David Longoria, Pima County Schools Superintendent Linda Arzoumanian announced Friday.

District 2 takes in much of Tucson’s south side and extends south to Sahuarita. Longoria, who held the seat since 2010, quit the board Monday to move to Phoenix for a new job. Applicants must be residents of District 2.

Arzoumanian is responsible for choosing a replacement to serve until the end of 2016 when Longoria’s term expires. An advisory panel will assist the superintendent.
