A biology and biotechnology teacher at Canyon del Oro High School was chosen as the Circle K Teacher of the Year.
Carolyn Zeiher, who previously worked as a research biologist at Monsanto and an assistant professor at the University of Arizona, was one of nine finalists in the program that selects outstanding high school faculty members in Southern Arizona.
The program is a cooperation between the University of Arizona Intercollegiate Athletics Department and the Circle K corporation.
Teachers are evaluated based on excellence in teaching preparation, leadership and innovation, among other qualities.
