The Amphitheater School District will build a new school in Oro Valley which would focus on science, technology, engineering and math. The new school is scheduled to open for the 2017-2018 school year and serve about 500 students.

The Pima County School Superintendent’s Office is hosting two free information sessions for governing board member hopefuls.

The School Board Elections 101 sessions will be held March 29 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and April 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 200 N. Stone Ave.

Each event will include a webinar hosted by the Arizona School Boards Association on school board service.

Parking will be validated at the Public Works Garage, 50 W. Alameda St.
