Michelle Watt looks just a little bit impatient as two people prepare her elaborately decorated mortar board prior to Pima Community College’s graduation ceremony. Watt and more than 3,500 other students earned a combined 5,796 degrees and certificates during Thursday night’s festivities at the Tucson Convention Center. A total of 1,735 students earned associate’s degrees, 150 of whom had grade-point averages of 3.9 or greater, meeting the requirement for graduation with highest honors. The associate’s degree program with the most graduates was liberal arts, followed by general studies, science, business administration and nursing.
