Southern Arizona students will compete internationally in science, technology, engineering and math competitions.

The following students will compete in the upcoming International Science and Engineering Fair in May:

  • Jeremiah Pate of BASIS Oro Valley
  • Sloan Kanaski of University High School
  • Zeeshan Jawaid of Carpe Diem Collegiate High School
  • Edwin Collier Moody V, home-schooled
  • Joseph Galasso, home-schooled
  • Jenna Allardice of Academy of Tucson High School
  • Sanne Casello of Empire High School

About 1,700 high school students around the world compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair. About $4 million would be awarded in prizes, according to the organization.

Two Tucson-area students will attend the International Sustainable World Engineering, Energy and Environmental Project.

They are:

  • Amanda Catherine Minke of Immaculate Heart High School
  • Leo Oโ€™Neill of Tucson High Magnet School
