A helicopter hovers over Rose Canyon Lake to pick up water to dump on the Montrose Fire, three miles away in the Box Spring area near Mount Lemmon. Four copters and two ground crews were fighting the human-caused 13-acre fire, with a hotshot crew expected to join them Thursday night. The blaze is in steep terrain with a lot of dead wood, said U.S. Forest Service spokeswoman Heidi Schewel. Rose Canyon Lake was closed to aid in the firefighting effort but is expected to reopen for fishing Friday, May 13.
