An online public forum with the eight people who have applied for an open seat on the Pima County Board of Supervisors is set for Monday night.

The forum being hosted by the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson is set to run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 11.

Democrat Sharon Bronson, who held the District 3 seat for 27 years, cited injuries suffered in a recent fall in a resignation letter last month explaining her decision to leave the position. Bronson won a seventh four-year term to represent District 3 in 2020.

District 3 is Pima County’s largest. It covers about 7,400 square miles in the western part of the county and shares about 130 miles of international border with Mexico.

Supervisors expect to name a replacement for Bronson on Dec. 19.

The applicants are Jennifer Allen, April Hiosik Ignacio, Brian Johnson, Matthew A. Kopec, Sylvia M. Lee, Joe L. Machado, Kristen Randall and Edgar F. Soto.

Each applicant was required to submit a letter of interest, a resumΓ©, a financial disclosure statement and a conflict-of-interest form. Go to http://tucne.ws/1ove to review the documents.

Pima County Information Technology Department and the Communications Office are assisting the League in hosting the online event, which will use WebEx meeting software.

Go to http://tucne.ws/1ovf to watch the forum. The county says 729mvM3PspK is the password needed to log into the forum.
