Workers sort and process ballots at Pima County's Elections Center in a 2022 file photo.

About 19,000 ballots from Tuesday's election are awaiting processing by the Pima County Recorder’s Office, officials said late Wednesday.

"Once processed, they will be turned over to the Elections Department to be counted. All should be processed by the close of business on Thursday," Pima County officials said in a social media post.

"Counting will continue each day, and into Friday (observed Veterans Day holiday) if necessary."

The vote tallies so far include 95% of precincts' results in the county.

One contest remains too close to call: Tucson's Proposition 413, to give pay raises to the mayor and City Council members, has 50.3% of the vote in favor at this point. That’s 557 votes ahead of votes counted so far that rejected the pay raise.

A total of 76,907 ballots have been counted in that contest — 38,732 "yes" votes and 38,175 "no" votes.
