Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer was trying to turn the focus away from Donald Trump’s campaign gaffes back to his platform and policy ideas, but her appearance on CNN Sunday included a shutdown by show host Jake Tapper.

Tapper asked Brewer whether Trump’s remarks about the Second Amendment or his comments about Obama and Clinton as ISIS founders bother her?

Brewer started out by saying Trump is a different kind of candidate who talks to people in a real way, unlike Clinton.

Then she blamed the media for focusing on the candidate’s gaffes instead of his policy plans.

People are concerned about issues like “jobs, the economy, security — and we want to hear more about that rather than the press completely and continuously just beating down on certain little one-word sentences,” Brewer said, making a beating motion with her fist.

“How dare we cover the comments he makes,” Tapper jabbed before moving to another question.

Analysts on the show said Trump’s “little one-word sentences” are hurting his chances at becoming president.

Meanwhile, Trump released a new policy plan on terrorism today.
