The Oro Valley Town Council has scrapped its search for a new town manager and decided to start the process all over again.

An Oro Valley spokeswoman Misti Nowak confirmed the council met in executive session Wednesday afternoon to discuss who should fill the vacancy left by Greg Caton, and decided not to name a replacement from the two finalists.

The two finalists were Joshua Wright, town manager of Wickenberg for the last five years, and Graham Mitchell, the city manager of Escondido, California.

The men were named finalists after a nationwide search, Nowak said.

The town will reopen the job posting in the next four to six weeks and will begin the search process again.

Police Chief Daniel Sharp will continue to serve as the interim town manager.
