Randolph Park Wastewater Plant

The Randolph treatment plant filters water through this anoxic basin as part of the reclamation process. The clean water is then supplied to Reid Park and Randolph Golf Course.

After delaying the vote on Jan. 17, the Pima County Board of Supervisors will again consider a 4-percent hike to county sewer rates Tuesday.

Officials say the increase, along with two additional 4-percent increases in coming years, are necessary to cover rising costs and declining revenues at the wastewater department, and stave off potentially serious financial consequences.

The supervisors last approved a hike in 2013.

Consideration of the additional two rate changes will wait until completion of a rate structure study expected by the late spring.

The supervisors also will consider how to respond to last weekโ€™s ruling against the county in a lawsuit regarding the World View deal. County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry previously said he would recommend the board of supervisors support an appeal of the ruling, which voided the lease deal the county made for the $15-million headquarters with the space balloon company.
