Hip-hop artist and DJ Grandmaster Flash.

Get ready to be wowed: Legendary DJ and hip-hop artist and Grandmaster Flash will be making an appearance at the University of Arizona at the end of February, as part of the school's Black History Month celebration.

Flash will give a lecture and live demonstration on February 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Crowder Hall, 1017 N. Olive Ave. The event is free and open to the public, with tickets provided at the door, according to a UA news release.

Considered to be one of the pioneers of hip-hop DJing, Flash has won a number of awards for his work, including "VH1 Hip Hop Honors: The Icon Award" from BET in honor of his contribution to hip-hop as a DJ, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the RIAA and the Bill Gates Vanguard Award. Recently, he was one of the collaborators of the Netflix show, "The Get Down."

Flash's appearance is the finale to the Africana Studies Program's Black History Month celebration, which includes more than a dozen events, panels and performances across campus.
