This palo verde tree bit the dust today in Green Valley, along Camino del Sol near Valley Presbyterian, in a burst of high winds. 

A burst of high winds this afternoon in Green Valley toppled a palo verde tree.

The tree was uprooted along Camino del Sol near Valley Presbyterian Church.

There were thunderstorms brewing near the Green Valley-Sahuarita areas at the time, the National Weather Service says.

Continuing into tonight, there's a a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the greater Tucson area, including Green Valley, before 11 p.m., the weather service says.
