A man has succumbed to injuries following a head-on vehicle collision last week, according to Tucson police spokesperson Sgt. Kimberly Bay.
Detectives have identified the man as 54-year-old Paul Abraugh.
Police and fire crews responded to the accident shortly after 12 p.m. on June 14 near the area of West Miracle Mile and North Romero Road, a Tucson Police Department release says.
Police say that Abraugh was driving southbound on Romero Road near West Miracle Mile. He made a left turn to drive eastbound on Miracle Mile, but failed to cross through the median and instead drove into the westbound lane.
Abraugh collided head-on with a commercial vehicle that was traveling westbound, according to police.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was able to pull to the side of the road following the accident and had minor injuries.
Speed does not appear to be a factor in the collision. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
