A man suffered life-threatening injuries when struck by a vehicle Tuesday on Tucson's south side, police said.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., officers found the injured man at West Irvington Road and South Sixth Avenue, said Officer Ray Smith, a Tucson police spokesman. The roadway has since been cleared.

The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation, Smith said.

No charges or citations have been issued as of Tuesday afternoon.
