A man was struck and killed Friday morning while crossing near an intersection on Tucson's south side, police said.

Just before 6 a.m., Daniel Armenta Gracia, 51, tried to cross South Nogales Highway just south of West Valencia Road, Tucson police said in a news release.

He was struck by a northbound, maroon Nissan Altima, and then by a second vehicle, police said.

The driver of the Nissan, a 51-year-old woman, remained at the scene, cooperated with the investigation, police said.

The investigation continues and no charges or citations have been issued.
