A man and a teenage boy were found dead and a woman was wounded in an apparent murder-suicide at an east-side home Thursday, Tucson police said.

A child inside the home in the 10400 block of Windstorm Drive alerted a neighbor to the shooting and the neighbor call 911, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a police spokesman.

When officers arrived at the home, near North Houghton Road and East Speedway, they were unable to make contact with anyone inside. Hostage negotiators were also called out to the scene, Dugan said.

Police made the decision to use a robot to enter the residence. The robot located a dead man inside the home.

A woman was also found with possible gunshot wounds, Dugan said. SWAT, along with medics, entered the home to treat the woman. She was taken to a hospital and her injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

While inside, officers found the teen boy dead.

Dugan said the people involved appeared to be family.

The boy who alerted a neighbor is OK, according to Dugan.
