The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Southern Arizona

  • NAMI provides no-cost advocacy, education and support for people with mental illness and their loved ones. One in five people is affected by mental illness.

  • Donated labor from carpenters, plumbers and electricians. Projects include making restroom accessible (enlarge door, repair bathroom ceiling and walls, install toilets and vanities, minor electrical work, remove tub); removing carpeting and laying tile in conference room and two offices (tile will be provided); removing two extra doors between offices and sheet rock, texture openings in preparation for painting. Landscape cleanup of small bed of native plants in front of building; four sturdy, tall bookshelves, preferably oak for our lending library of mental-health books.

Forever Wild Avian Sanctuary
  • Mission:
  • We accept birds and other domestic species, including parrots and small mammals such as pet rabbits, that are rescued from abandonment or neglect. Adoption to permanent homes is always our goal.

  • Portable fans, Costco brand wild bird seed parrot seed/parrot pellets, rabbit pellets, kitty litter, solar-powered lights, large metal parrot cages.

Operation Barnabas
  • Mission:
  • We are dedicated to helping all military and their families, especially the needy and homeless.
  • Wish list:
  • Supplies for the next Stand Down resources fair Jan. 14 at the Days Inn in Tucson. Need items for resource bags for children and adults, including stuffed animals, small games, arts and craft supplies, clothing (warm hats, scarves, mittens); snacks (health bars, peanut butter and/or cheese crackers, nuts, etc.); hygiene items; King James version Bibles.

  • All-volunteer, no kennel, home-based foster organization dedicated to the rescue of beagles and education of their new families.
