Oro Valley Town Manager Greg Caton is stepping down to take a new job in Colorado.

Details on when Caton will leave have not been determined, but the town announced Caton would be taking a city manager town in Grand Junction.

Caton, who grew up in Colorado Springs, was hired as Oro Valley’s assistant town manager in 2010. He was named interim town manager in 2011, and was promoted to town manager in 2012.

He was previously assistant city manager in Durango, Colorado, for eight years, and he attended Fort Lewis College in Durango and the University of Colorado-Denver.

β€œMr. Caton is deeply respected by Oro Valley Town Council, staff and the community,” said Mayor Satish Hiremath.

β€œHe leaves a legacy of success and bold leadership. We are grateful for his years of service and wish him well in Grand Junction.”

Oro Valley paid Caton $189,374 in 2015, including salary and benefits.
