A pedestrian struck and killed on the Tucson area's southwest side Monday night has been identified as a 32-year-old man, the Pima County Sheriff's Department says.
Daniel Sakiestewa was walking east on West Drexel Road near South Mission Road in an unlit area, and not in a crosswalk, about 7:30 p.m., a sheriff's spokesman said.
Sakiestewa was struck by a vehicle whose driver was also traveling eastbound. The driver stayed at the scene and has not been charged. The investigation continues.
No other information was released.
